About The Wine
Located at the base of the Mayacamas Mountains in western St Helena, Las Piedras is considered one of the ‘Holy Grail’ sites by Napa winemakers. Its history stretches back to 1840, and it became the first of Andy Beckstoffer’s Heritage Sites when he purchased it in 1983. With numerous 100 point scores, Paul Hobbs and Carter Cellars are among the Estates vying for this fruit, and the wines are famed for their depth and minerality.
Vice Versa Beckstoffer Las Piedras Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 2019
"The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Las Piedras Vineyard is similarly incredibly expressive, offering more red and black fruits as well as notes of gravelly earth, flowers, chocolate, and some obvious minerality. Las Piedras always tends to produce a slightly more elegant, finesse-driven wine compared to the more powerful Dr. Crane releases, and you certainly see that here. It’s full-bodied, pure, seamless, and just perfectly balanced. Made from 100% Cabernet Sauvignon that spent 18 months in 90% new French oak, this is a thrill a second and should keep for 20-25 years."
99 points, Jeb Dunnuck (Mar. 2022)
