About The Wine
The Stewart family began crafting wines 20 years ago with a promise in mind; delivering exceptional, age worthy wines, while taking you on a journey. The NOMAD Collection builds upon that promise with an exploration of Napa Valley’s most exquisite vineyards and their unique terroir as Stewart Cellars showcases the Beckstoffer Heritage Vineyards.
The Beckstoffer Las Piedras Vineyard is an extremely rocky site at the base of the Mayacamas Mountains, in western St. Helena. The Stewart Cellars Las Piedras is from 100% Clone 4 Cabernet Sauvignon that was planted in 2001.
Whole-berry fermentaion in stainless steel fermenters was followed by wet cap immersion, totalling 28 days of maceration. It was racked into French oak barrells (95% new) for 22 months prior to bottling.
Stewart Cellars NOMAD Beckstoffer Las Piedras Cabernet Sauvignon 2018
"If you are familiar with Beckstoffer’s Las Piedras Vineyard, then you will surely recognize this wine! Ripe and bright, our 2018 NOMAD Las Piedras Cabernet Sauvignon kicks off with aromas of strawberries & cream and crème brûlée. Flavors of red peach, boysenberry, and raspberry envelop the palate, while the subtle French oak remains beautifully integrated. The fine grain tannins on the finish are long and lingering, just the way we like it! We recommend decanting this wine now or cellaring through 2040.."
