About The Wine

POP 300 is a true labour of love from Luke Russ, Estate Director at one of Robert Parker's self-professed favourite wineries in Napa, O'Shaughnessy Estate Winery. Luke returned to his childhood home of Oakville in Napa, where his still resides, to craft a one-of-a-kind white.

It quickly became a favourite of Napa and Sonoma's top sommeliers, but as we've known Luke for many years we managed to wrangle a small allocation for the UK!

POP 300 Oakville White 2016

  • "Fermented dry in a combination of 60% used French oak barrels and 40% stainless steel barrels this wine was left on its lees for 10 months to develop added richness. Malolactic was blocked and the resulting wine is medium bodied with fresh focused flavors and both a bright and opulent finish making it very appealing to a broad range of occasions. Chardonnay was one of the key components of this wine and there are also four other floral varietals in the mix to add additional sapidity and aromatic complexity. The nose is delicately perfumed with subtle aromas of pear, peach, lemongrass and white flowers and a refined palate feel. This is a hard wine to get and an even harder wine to put down once in your glass. "
