About The Wine

Melka's well-known Jumping Goat vineyard is located in the AVA of St. Helena. The 2017 has a dense inky purple colour with notes of dark cherry and chocolate, with nuances of violet and lavender alongside great minerality. This rich Cabernet is silky and elegant with incredible amounts of texture and energy in the wine. A wine that shows astonishing purity and vivacity.

It was aged 20 months in French oak barrels (80% new) before bottling in May, 2019.

MELKA Métisse Jumping Goat Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 2017

  • "The 2017 Métisse Jumping Goat Vineyard is another absolutely stunning wine in this range from Philippe and Cherie Melka. Rich and vertical, with tons of explosive energy, the 2017 is infused with tremendous drive as well as nuance. Inky blue/purplish fruit, lavender, licorice, spice and espresso all build as this racy, voluptuous red show off its personality. This truly remarkable wine is one of the real highlights of the year. In a word: sensational."
