About The Wine
"Classic" and "perfect" are just two accolades that have been bestowed upon this vintage. Moderate to warm weather throughout the season brought upon near-ideal spring bud break, steady flowering, even fruit set, and a lengthy stretch of warm days and cool and often foggy nights during the summer months achieving an abundant and healthy crop.
Harvest was on 22nd September, 2012, and it was aged for 11 months in 30% new and 70% neutral French oak.
Founded by Larry Hyde in 1979, Hyde Vineyards is located in the heart of Napa Valley's Carneros region. Hyde Vineyards has long been hailed a grand cru-caliber site primarily known for its Pinot Noir and Chardonnay fruit, used by some of the most highly acclaimed wine producers in Napa and Sonoma. In 2009, Larry decided to debut his own small-lot production Pinot Noir project and today, the Hyde Estate Winery sits looking out onto the acclaimed vineyards near the Carneros Highway corridor surrounded by 25 acres planted to Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.

"On the nose, ripe apple, pear, and Meyer lemon lead into fresh tropical fruit before settling against the warmth of vanilla and nutmeg baking spice. Medium rich and balanced, the palate jumps with bright acidity from the cooler Carneros climate yet carries the concentrated orchard fruit from old vines."
