About the Wine:
Georgia is grown on a three acre, dry-farmed estate vineyard in Yountville. This exquisite, Graves-style (dry white Bordeaux) Sauvignon Blanc is fermented and aged in 100% new French oak barrels for eighteen months. It displays unprecedented depth and complexity, amazing texture, and a long lingering finish. Lail Vineyards was the first winery in the New World to produce a Sauvignon Blanc in this complex and captivating style, beginning with the 2002 vintage.
The proprietary name celebrates the first member of the sixth generation of our family’s winemaking in Napa Valley, Georgia Eileen. It has been called by a leading wine writer “...California’s most complex and multi-dimensional Sauvignon Blanc.”

Robin recently served the 2004 vintage to Robert Parker who was astonished to find how fresh and complex it was at over ten years of age! He described the Georgia as one of the great Sauvignon Blancs of the USA.

“Coming from a dry-farmed, three-acre vineyard in Yountville, the 2018 Georgia Sauvignon Blanc was fermented and aged for 19 months in French oak barrels, 70% new. It slides seductively out of the glass with notes of pink grapefruit, white peaches and lemon drops plus hints of coriander seed, mandarin peel and honeysuckle. Medium to full-bodied, the palate has a gorgeous satiny texture with intense stone fruit and citrus layers supplemented by loads of savory and mineral nuances, finishing long with a zesty lift. 461 cases were made."
