About The Wine

Like its sister wine, La Magdalena, Favia's Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon is produced from select blocks at Oakville Ranch, high above the valley floor in the eastern hills of Oakville.

These red, iron rich soils produce wines of great stature and profound complexity, wines that have a signature and personality all their own. It is always a deep, structured, and complex wine – regal and statuesque. The 2018 vintage is a modern take on this classic combination of varietal and appellation. The aim was to capture the density and complexity that comes with Cabernet Sauvignon grown in these climes, but with freshness, verve, and ageability.

Organically grown grapes, controlled extraction, long barrel aging and bottling without fining or filtration, all add up to a wine that will continue to delight, today and for many years to come.

Favia Cabernet Sauvignon Oakville 2018

  • "Next up, the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Oakville is a slightly broader, more expansive wine with textbook notes of crème de cassis, tobacco leaf, Asian spices, loamy soil, camphor, and chocolate. Offering full-bodied richness, a beautiful weightlessness on the palate, and building tannins, this is another gorgeous, seamless, singular wine from this estate that will benefit from short-term cellaring and evolve for 20-25 years or more."
