About The Wine

Sourced entirely from the Estate Paderewski Vineyard, this sultry and seductive Syrah-dominant hillside blend smells and tastes like autumn – sweet leather, dried tobacco, brown cooking spice, red plum and fresh cranberry compote.

Authenticity’s Syrah roots shine with a plethora of roasted meatiness and roasted herb flavors (sage, rosemary and thyme, of course). As usual, a healthy dollop of Mourvèdre adds length and tames the bigness of Syrah, revealing a touch of wet earth, pomegranate, forest floor and sassafras.

It was fermented in a mix of 100% new French oak puncheons, and stainless steel tanks, with 22% whole clusters used. It was then aged for 19 months in mid-sized French oak barrels and puncheons (69% new) before bottling on 12th June, 2019.

Epoch Estate Wines Authenticity 2017

  • "One of the deeper hued wines in the lineup, the 2017 Authenticity checks in as 92% Syrah, 6% Mourvèdre, and the rest Viognier. Classic Paso Robles notes of blueberries, melted licorice, ground pepper, cured meats, and bacon fat all flow to a deep, full-bodied, opulent wine with terrific purity, a rounded, sexy texture, and a seriously good finish.
