About The Wine

Located on a fiercely steep, furiously rocky, northwest facing hillside in the farthest south-eastern foothills of Napa Valley, where San Pablo Bay has significant cooling influence. An extreme site where aggressive farming is a must to achieve optimal ripeness.

Argot Sugarloaf Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 2018

  • "The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Sugarloaf Vineyard displays a rich, darker purple color as well as solid notes of ripe black fruits, dark chocolate, cedarwood, graphite, and leafy herbs and tobacco. It’s nicely balanced, full-bodied, has a wonderful sense of purity, and a great finish. It’s a classic 2018 with it pure, focused, age-worthy style. I’d give bottles 3-5 years of bottle age, and it should evolve for 20+ years or more. It’s impressive and probably the finest version of this cuvée I’ve tasted from the estate, surpassing even the 2015 and 2016."
