About The Wine

2019 marks the 8th vintage of Jim’s flagship Syrah. To date, every release of this cuvée has scored between 98+ to 100 points from Jeb Dunnuck, and with another perfect score in the pipeline this remarkable run continues to amaze.

Jim’s blend of the White Hawk (Cat Canyon), Larner (Ballard Canyon), Harrison-Clark (Ballard Canyon) and Alta Mesa (Cuyama Valley) Vineyards in Santa Barbara County is a thrilling experience, balancing hedonism and pure elegance to perfection.

Andremily Wines No. 8 Syrah 2019

  • "Another magical wine in the lineup, the 2019 No 8 is Syrah-based, with 9% Mourvèdre and 3% Viognier. There should be a little over 800 cases produced, and it was 55% destemmed and is still resting in 65% new French oak. I love its freshness and elegance, and it’s one of those rare incredibly hedonistic yet seamless, weighty wines that does everything right. Pure cassis, blackberries, smoked meats, and white pepper slowly emerge on the nose, and it’s full-bodied, with perfect balance and a great, great finish."
