About The Wine

Embodying the rich diversity of the estate, TÉRES elegantly combines Cabernet Sauvignon grapes from each block of the ADAMVS Estate producing a field blend of uncompromising quality. Pure and polished, with the structure of a classic Bordeaux, TÉRES is a true expression of this unique terroir. The fruit was harvested from 26th September to 6th October, and spent an average of 24 days macerating on the skins. It was racked into 55% new French oak for 22 months prior to release.

The 2016 growing season marked the end to California’s five-year drought and offered the overall conditions for a classic Napa Valley vintage. A wet January, March, and April meant replenished soils and ultimately an early start to the season. The dry, moderately warm summer helped to support even ripening through a mild fall with few heat spikes. This ideal growing season at the ADAMVS Estate resulted in wines of great finesse, power, and complexity—perhaps the vintage of the decade?

ADAMVS Cabernet Sauvignon TÉRES 2016

  • "Leading off the 2016s and fresher and slightly more elegant than the 2015, the 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon TERES offers a complex perfume of flowery camphor, violets, and blue fruits as well as a medium to full-bodied, refined, seamless mouthfeel that just begs to be drunk. From 100% Cabernet Sauvignon aged in 70% new French oak, it can be drunk today or cellared for 15-20 years."
