The Golden Vines

The Golden Vines Awards are the definitive international awards recognising and celebrating excellence in the fine wine industry.

The Awards are presented annually during The Golden Vines Awards Ceremony, Dinner & After-Party – a charitable, televised scar-style black tie event, hosted at Annabel’s on Thursday, 7 October 2021 by an A-list fine wine enthusiast. The Awards Ceremony is accompanied by a world-class entertainment programme and a 5-course dinner overseen by a three Michelin star chef from The World’s Best Restaurant 2019, perfectly paired with a selection of 6 world’s best fine wines and spirits. The award winners are determined by a decentralised voting poll of 442 first-class industry experts and market players as a part of their contribution to The Gerard Basset Global Fine Wine Report.

Dedicated to the memory of Gerard Basset OBE MW MS MBA OIV MSc ASI World Sommelier Champion (Chile, 2010), the event’s profits and proceeds from accompanying charity auctions will be donated to The Gerard Basset Wine Education Charitable Foundation (Registered Charity Number 1193020) to fund The Golden Vines Diversity Scholarships covering the costs of the Master of Wine and Master Sommelier and Internship programmes for BIPOC (black, indigenous and people of colour) & BAME (black, Asian, and minority ethnic) students. Excess monies raised will be used to fund diversity-related wine education projects in collaboration with our Institutional and Community Partners.
